Sarah Alonzo is a Long Beach, CA based artist, prop maker and educator working primarily in ceramics, with a wide practice that also includes anything from drawing and painting to mixed media sculpture. Inspired by antiques, art history and the stories objects hold, she creates work for film sets, custom commissions and her own studio practice.

The projects below are a mix of prop work and food styling created for film and television.In addition to fabrication, I support creative teams through on-set art coordination and performance training in art techniques. I’ve trained actors for ceramics-based roles, provided technical guidance for art scenes, and consulted on material realism and period accuracy.

Personal Portfolio
My personal work centers around ceramics, where I’m drawn to transforming raw materials into objects that tell stories. I create anything from strange little sculptural pieces to functional wares, alongside two dimensional work which could include painting to printmaking. Some of my mediums include: acrylic, watercolor, gouache, collage, and linocut as a way of exploring ideas, emotion, and the history of me.

About Me
Sarah Alonzo is an artist, prop maker and educator based in Long Beach, California.
Sarah's been building, painting, sculpting and making all kinds of messes since she was a kid in the garage with her dad. Her love for art took her to California State University, Long Beach where she earned a Bachelors of Fine Art in Ceramics in 2014 and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art, in 2017.She’s worked behind the scenes on major motion films and TV sets for productions streaming on with Netflix, Disney, Peacock, Apple TV, and more, creating custom, one-of-a-kind props, artwork, and food styling that help bring stories to life.
